Entry Requirements
Pre-entry Proficiency Test (PPT)
This test is mandatory for those entrants who have less then 60% marks in HSC Exam.
Those with at least 60% marks in HSC Exam, A-Levels with minimum two C’s and graduates with 1st division from recognized University or post graduate can claim exemptions from PPT and can directly join Modular Foundation.
All candidates who intend to join CA profession are required to either appear in pre-entry proficiency test (PPT) or obtain exemption. PPT is one hour forty five minutes test in which candidates are tested in English Arithmetic logic and General knowledge. This test is held quarterly in March, June, September and December. SKANS is a popular place for PPT preparation and classes are held one month before the PPT date.
Eligibility for PPT
HSSC/Intermediates with minimum 45% marks
A’ Levels with two passes
Graduates with 2nd division
Exemptions from PPT
HSSC/Intermediates with grade B or 60% marks
A’ Levels with two Cs
Graduates with 1st division
Post graduates with 2nd division
Modular Foundation Course (MFC)
MFC scheme consist of four modules. Students after passing or obtaining exemption from PPT are to be registered with ICAP and can join coaching classes with SKANS School of Accountancy as MFC student.
Eligibility for MFC
HSSC/Intermediates with minimum 45% marks in any discipline and have passed or obtained exemption from PPT.
A’ Levels with minimum two passes in any subjects and have passed or obtained exemption from PPT.
Post graduates/graduates honors with second division and have obtained exemption from PPT.
Exemption from MFC
Bright and intelligent students are encouraged to pursue CA profession after claiming specific exemptions available to them. Exemptions are allowed from specific papers foundation level subject to matching of 70% course contents of relevant paper(s) in which exemption is claimed.
Exemptions from specific papers A1, A2 and B3
HSSC/Intermediates with minimum 70% marks in aggregate and having not less than 60% marks in the relevant papers. If a candidate fulfills these two conditions, he/she can apply for exemtion if at least 75% marks are scored in the relevant papers in which exemption is claimed.
A’ levels candidates with minimum tow Bs on overall basis but not less than C grade in relevant papers can apply for exemption if minimum B grade is scored in the relevant subject in which exemption is claimed.
Graduates (2/3 years) with minimum 70% marks in aggregate and having not less than 60% marks in the relevant papers can apply for exemptions if minimum 75% marks are scored in the relevant subject in which exemption is claimed.
Graduates with honors and post graduates with minimum 70% marks in the relevant papers can apply for exemption.
Exemption from Coaching Classes of Papers A1, A2, B3
HSSC/Intermediates with minimum 70% marks in aggregate and having scored at least 60% marks in the relevant papers need no to attend coaching classes.
A’ Levels with minimum two Bs on overall basis and having scored minimum Cs in relevant papers needs not to attend coaching classes.
Note : All the above mentioned exemptions are to be approved by ICAP. Examination structure
Qualification Flexibility
You can control the speed of your progression by either sitting in the exams on module by module basis or you can choose a fast track by sitting in the exams of two consecutive modules. This means a candidate can complete foundation and intermediate levels in just one year time. There is not time limit fixed by the ICAP during which all examinations must be passed.
Future Progression
Students who have passed intermediate level of CA qualification can apply for BBA (Hons) degree in Accounting and Finance from University of Central Punjab Lahore. After completing module E of MFC scheme, a student is eligible for MBA degree of the University of Central Punjab. Students who have successfully completed intermediate level of CA qualification would be required to undergo professional training with a Chartered Accounatants firm for a period of three and a half years. During training period students are eligible to sit in professional level examinations under the MFC scheme for modules E and F. after passing module F examinations, students would be fully qualified and can use the words of ACA with his/her name subject to completing membership requirements of ICAP. To make further progression in the profession a candidate can apply for CFA, ICAEW, Phd etc as additional qualifications.
Interest Free Educational Loan
ICAP offers financial assistance in the form of interest free educational loan to its students who have a sound academic record and find it difficult to afford educational expenses. Students who are desirous of availing the facility may apply on a prescribed application to the chairman loan award committee of ICAP.
